Broadford Rovers FC is proud to mark a landmark moment in the club’s history. We have officially purchased the land at Stonemasons Way,the ground we’ve called home since 1976. Spanning just over 7.5 acres, this acquisition secures a permanent base for our club in the community.

Crucially, it also allows us to apply for Sports Capital Grants on the land, overcoming previous refusals due to lack of land title. Owning the land outright removes that barrier entirely.

This purchase guarantees the long-term future of Broadford Rovers and opens the door to ambitious plans for growth and the development of state-of-the-art facilities for our players, supporters, and the wider community.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Andrew Corcoran, who has led this project with exceptional dedication since 2023. After our 2022 Sports Capital Grant application was declined due to title issues, Andrew’s determination made the impossible possible. He identified and engaged the landowner, arranged surveys, coordinated with legal and technical experts, and successfully negotiated the agreement that secured our future. This milestone would not have been achieved without his commitment.

Supporting Andrew on the Development Committee were Chairperson Lorraine Byrne, Vice Chairman Liam Kealy, Club Secretary Damian Kilpatrick, along with our club solicitor Niall Geaney and surveyor Paul McElearney. We also received the full backing of our trustees Tom Reeves, Brendan O’Leary, and Jason Glass, whose support was instrumental in completing this historic purchase.

Andrew commented:
“Early in our journey through the extensive paperwork relating to the land, we discovered that the owners had completed a detailed survey on the site in 2022. It became clear that we needed to secure our pitches for the long-term future of the club before a possible sale for development.
Broadford Rovers FC belongs in Broadford, and it was vital that we didn’t have to relocate to improve our facilities. The hard work will continue as we aim to deliver state-of-the-art facilities for our players and the local community.”

Here’s to the next chapter in the journey of Broadford Rovers FC and our local communities. Stronger, United, and Ready for the Future.
